Rapport: It’s The – You Like Me Because I Am Like You Technique

Think Rapport is just an NLP technique used insincerely to make people like and agree with you?

Well, if you do, you’re missing out on many genuine and meaningful relationships.

If you find yourself feeling like an outsider, not able to generate or participate in stimulating conversations and spending way too much time being alone, then you need Rapport to beat the loneliness blues.

I believe that Rapport is not used enough, especially in situations where building long-lasting, meaningful relationships is the ultimate goal.

It’s Not Blind Trust

Many people talk about Rapport building in the form of a gimmick used to fool people into liking and trusting you. The trouble is if you “make” someone buy something they don’t want, they’ll quickly return it for a refund and end up never dealing with you again.

But rapport can be used effectively in your life and should be used as much as possible to create sincere relationships.

It is not only very useful in helping you create and carry on a good conversation, but it’s also the essence of building a happy life.

Sure, if you’re in sales, rapport can make a difference in whether you make a sale or not, but it is much more than that. Rapport is needed in starting good relationships by making others feel comfortable and just as important, by making you feel comfortable with others.

Imagine being able to start a conversation with anyone, anywhere, on the spot without a hint of stutter, sweaty palms, elevated heartbeat or hesitation of any kind. That’s what knowing rapport can do for you.

Rapport = Confidence

Knowing how to build rapport builds self-confidence and trust.

When you know how to put others at ease…you feel at ease.

It also gives you the freedom to go places and meet people easily without fear.

And knowing that you have the skills to communicate freely with anyone is like being released from a self-imposed life sentence of solitary confinement.

If you want to know the taste of a pear, you must change the pear by eating it yourself . . . If you want to know the theory and methods of revolution, you must take part in a revolution. All genuine knowledge originates in direct experience.Mao Zedong

Rapport Conquers Loneliness

Many people live in fear of meeting new people and live a lonely life because they don’t have friends. There are lonely people everywhere; perhaps you’re one of them.

Lonely people don’t know how to create rapport easily and, therefore, can’t easily create meaningful, lasting relationships. And they suffer an unhappy life because of it.

Sharing your life and being with others is one of the most beautiful feelings in the world.

Next time you’re out and about, just look around you. You can actually see people when they are falling in love. You can see the happiness so clearly you can almost feel it yourself.

To deprive yourself of that happiness just because no one taught you how to build rapport is downright awful.

I’ve heard that some people will sit and listen to financial advisors just to have some companionship… isn’t that sad?
