Who wants to be a millionaire – But Is It What You Think?

Have you ever thought of being a millionaire?

Perhaps you’ve watched the show, “Who wants to be a millionaire” with Regis Philbin, or the movie “Slumdog Millionaire” that was based on it?

The creators of popular movies and TV shows are experts at getting you totally associated with the pains and pleasures of the drama unfolding, aren’t they?

But for most people becoming a millionaire is not about the amount of money itself, it’s about the feeling you get being a millionaire.

And that feeling is really all about having certainty in your life because having certainty means feeling secure – being content.

The opposite of certainty is uncertainty and that’s when you really don’t know what’s going to happen. And typically that means financially. And financial worries are the most stressful and cause the most problems.

So becoming a millionaire is the ultimate instant gratification. It’s the instant cure for uncertainty because if you suddenly had a million dollars you would have enough money to cover everything in your future, or so the thought goes …

The Future Is Uncertain

But the future is uncertain and will always be uncertain to a certain degree, won’t it?

So let’s pop out of the fantasy millionaire scenario for a second and back to your real life. How can you create some certainty for yourself without becoming a millionaire?

Oh, sure, you can prepare for the future by getting a good education they say, and don’t forget about socking away some money for a rainy day.

Of course eating healthy, you know, lots of green things and seed things, remember a bit of dairy and cut down on the fatty stuff.

And remember to exercise 3 times a week at least. Take the stairs rather than the elevator. Do the Romper Room bend and stretch (good for getting rid of gas pains too:)

Did you know that building your face to face social community can keep you living longer? Well, as long as your social community is mostly people you like.

There are many other things that can make your future more certain, like regular doctor visits for example, but, you can still end up being in the wrong place at the wrong time, can’t you?

It’s Not About Being A Millionaire

You can always worry about being on the wrong plane, in the wrong car, at the wrong store, or even walking your dog on a wrong night. But that would be a great waste of time.

And being rich doesn’t make you immune to worry either. Rich people worry way too much about what may happen to them just like you do. Do you remember Howard Hughs? All that money and living a reclusive lifestyle because of an obsessive–compulsive disorder they say. Being a millionaire didn’t save poor Howard.

So, it’s not really about being a millionaire, it’s really all about you feeling certain about feeling secure. Secure about who you are and what you are capable of.

And that, by the way, is a state of mind that money can’t buy.

When you learn to control your state in all circumstances, then you feel secure in all circumstances. And if you can’t presently control your state the way you would like to, then check out our NLP Training Online.

Because if you can’t control your state that means others are controlling your state. And when others control you that’s like being a slumdog.
